Kotor is a beautiful town located in a secluded part of the visually stunning bay in Montenegro. Being a coastal place and a finely preserved medieval highlight in the Adriatic, it is a tourist magnet. Kotor is considered a double UNESCO World Heritage Site, as it is part of the natural and culture-historical region. The Old Town and its ancient city walls climbing up the slopes of Saint John’s mountain toward Mount Lovcen have been well preserved.

The best way to discover the city’s rich history is by entering the Old Town through one of the three main gates – River gate, South gate, or Sea gate, and exploring its cobblestone streets and stepping into the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon. Other tourist attractions in the vicinity of Kotor are Sveti Dorde and Gospa od Skrpjela islets off the coast of Perast.

Kotor has numerous tourist-oriented restaurants with inviting outdoor seating in the town’s main square and small lanes. These eateries feature Italian and Montenegrin fare, which is heavy on seafood, and once the sun goes down, these establishments become particularly romantic in their ambiance. To make it easier for you, we have reviewed some of the top restaurants to have a great dining experience in Kotor.
