A hidden entrance leads into a quiet and beautifully decorated garden, or into the traditional living room. Both go perfectly with the food they offer. Plus a large selection of alcoholic drinks and a few non-alcoholic drinks Also one of the few taverns that offers a fair number of vegetarian dishes. Although the portions are not that big, the food is very filling and well-rounded. We haven't been to Klosterneuburg for a good ten years and were surprised by the significantly smaller number of Buschenschänken. The Hitzel family still exists and so our path led us there. The taproom exudes the same cosiness as ever, Ms. Hitzel Jun. and Sen. were busy working in the kitchen. There is hearty food and the beloved Grüner Veltliner. I was reminded of my student years in Vienna, when we regularly visited Klosterneuburg. We like the Hitzel family very much, we definitely recommend it and will definitely come back soon!
