My parents visited Voorstandt on a weekday in October and really enjoyed both the food and the beachfront atmosphere. We decided to return as a family today (Saturday) and made a booking for 1:30pm. The restaurant was understandably busy, and our drinks were taken and served promptly. However, things went downhill from there. After waiting about 35 minutes, we had to call someone over to take our food order because our waiter never returned, despite being active at all the surrounding tables. Once our order was finally placed, we waited another 30–40 minutes for our meals. While the menu does state that food can take up to 45 minutes to prepare, it was difficult to ignore that tourists around us were being served far more quickly—even those who arrived after we did. Unfortunately, it felt very clear that the restaurant prioritised tourists while giving noticeably less attention to non-white local customers. It was a disappointing experience, and we won’t be returning. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants nearby that treat all guests with equal care and respect.
