Stopped in here for lunch to split a pizza and beer and was really impressed with the service, food, and atmosphere. Convenient parking as well. Would recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $10–20 Recommended dishes: Bee Spicy, The Cause

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at The Civil on New Year’s Eve. I made a reservation weeks in advance to celebrate our anniversary, and when we arrived, there was no table available for us. Instead, a table was set up for us in the middle of a walking aisle, without anyone explaining the situation, acknowledging that they were overbooked, or asking if this arrangement was acceptable. We were not offered the option to wait for another table or given any alternatives. A young man working there was apologetic and explained that the manager in the back had made a mistake, which we appreciated, however, the manager never came out to speak with us, apologize, or offer a solution. That lack of accountability was disappointing. Given that it was New Year’s Eve and our anniversary, we ultimately chose to leave. We understand that mistakes happen, especially on busy nights, but better communication and ownership from management would have gone a long way. Sadly, this was not the experience we were hoping for on a special occasion.
