This place gave me food poisoning. Nuff said. other people confirmed that they have gotten sick from eating the food there. I was on a fly in job and because of this food i was stuck in the hotel all day and lost a day of work. I now have an aversion to this type of food. this is will not only harm this subway but all other subways i won't visit anymore. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1

This issue goes beyond staff training — this is a franchise owner problem. Subway’s standard build is based on full slices of cheese per 6-inch sandwich, with a footlong being double that amount. Using half slices is not the standard; it is a store-level decision. At this Thompson location, the franchise owner has clearly chosen to use half slices while not doubling the count, which results in customers paying full menu prices and receiving less product. On Jan 8, 2026, my footlong pizza sub had only four half slices of cheese, and my 6-inch ham & turkey had one half slice. That equals two full slices on a footlong and half a slice on a 6-inch — nowhere near Subway’s standard. This has happened consistently for over a year and well over a dozen visits. When the exact same reduced portions are served every single time, this is not employee error. It is a deliberate operating choice approved by the franchise owner. Call it whatever you want — “cost control,” “portion management,” etc. — but charging full price while knowingly serving reduced portions amounts to scamming customers. The math doesn’t lie. If half slices are used, the number must increase. This store does not do that. I should have addressed this sooner, but I kept assuming it would improve. It hasn’t. This franchise owner is knowingly shorting patrons, and Subway corporate needs to step in. Until the franchise follows actual Subway build standards, I cannot recommend this location to anyone. Subway in Thompson is well, Subway. You know exactly what you’re getting: questionable meats, processed bread, and “fresh” produce that has clearly seen better days. Look at the tomatoes or the lettuce and you’ll know what I mean — soggy, brown edges, and greens that are past their prime. The service? Let’s just say patience is required. You stand at the counter ready to order, and what happens? They’re busy completing online orders first, and you’re basically invisible until they’re done. You might as well be part of the décor while they sort out sandwiches that are probably no fresher than yesterday’s. The so-called “salad bar” behind the counter is chaotic, and it’s hard to tell if anyone really knows what they’re doing. And of course, the prices have skyrocketed. $12–$15 for a footlong of processed meats and bread that could double as a brick is just how it is in Thompson. Mediocre ingredients, overpriced, and slow service — that’s Subway in a nutshell. But hey, it’s Subway. If you want to shove some questionable meats and limp veggies into your digestive system while waiting for someone to notice you, it does the job. Consistent? Sure. Worth the hype? Not even close.
