The Italian sandwiches here are amazing, and they’re gluten free! I’m salivating just thinking about them. Veal, chicken or eggplant; you can’t go wrong. Only downside is that it’s a small space, only one table for two. She also has a wide variety of frozen prepared items. The manicotti were great. Dietary restrictions: Everything is gluten free. I recently visited Schiroso Gluten Free Foods, an Italian takeout spot known for its gluten-free options. The food experience was remarkable, but the customer service aspect was underwhelming. Food: - Veal Sandwich: This was probably the best veal sandwich I've ever had. Gluten-free or not, this sandwich is a must-try for everyone. Its taste and quality left a lasting impression. - Arancini Balls: While I haven’t tried them yet, the price point of $25 for four balls seemed steep. - Meat Lasagna: Also yet to be tasted, but the small portion at $60, feeding only 1-2 people, appeared to be quite expensive. - Tiramisu: Absolutely delightful. Creamy, tasty, and just perfect. It lived up to every expectation. Despite the high prices for some items, the exceptional quality of the veal and tiramisu earned this place a 5-star rating for food. Customer Service: - The service, unfortunately, didn’t match the high standard set by the food. The interactions over the phone were abrupt and unhelpful. On calling to check availability due to the Easter long weekend, the response was short, directing me to their website before hanging up. - A follow-up call to place an order was met with a similar manner, suggesting we come in without the possibility of pre-ordering despite their busy status, which was contradicted by the calm scene at the restaurant upon our arrival. - The lack of hospitality was off-putting, and after noticing other 1-star reviews mentioning similar experiences, it seems this is a recurring issue. Overall: The food at Schiroso Gluten Free Foods, especially the veal sandwich and tiramisu, is outstanding and deserves recognition. However, the customer service experience significantly dampened our visit. For a place that offers such unique and high-quality gluten-free options, improving customer interactions is crucial. I sincerely hope there’s a change in this area, as this establishment is a true gem that should not risk losing customers due to poor service.
