Sam has instructed me to write a review on Google Reviews and I am very happy to do so! So, here it goes! My first ever review on Google. As I got off at Hertogenbosch train station and waited for the bus to Uden. I saw about a hundred people waiting for the 306 Uden bus and I asked someone there why are there so many people waiting for the bus? Uden must be a great place if so many people are waiting to get there and he laughed and said 'no! We're all wanting to go to Eindhoven, why are you going to Uden?' And I told him my ancestors who came from there 350 years ago before moving to England and I wanted to honour them, everyone in the queue laughed at this bit of information. So, I got the bus to Uden and it was a nice ride into town, past the farms with their strawberry fields and the nice houses with their neat manicured lawns. I eventually got to Uden bus station and it was about midday so I went to look for something to eat and I came across 'Het Pure' so in I went and got a table. The staff were very friendly and I ordered a croque madame - I was going to order the croque monsieur but when I saw the croque madame I ordered that instead and it came with a cup of coffee. Well, when it came it was massive and very tasty and I ate it all! Better than the ones you would get in France but I remembered when I came into the front door I saw some cakes in the glass cabinet. So I decided to have a cake but I didn't know what to order because I am on a diet and shouldn't be eating cakes but then I thought 'I am on holiday' and decided to thrown caution to the wind and order a dessert so I asked the nice young lady what should I order and she said 'order the carrot cake, it's amazing' and I said 'OK then'. Now, I have had carrot cake all over the world, I have had amazing carrot cakes on every continent so I was expecting excellence and it then came to my table! It was massive and I ate it all and it was the best carrot cake I have ever had, the ladies were right! The carrot cake was excellent and it is a shame I will never ever have it again because I would love to go and sit there one more time and have that carrot cake and tell Sam that's the best carrot cake I have ever had. Not only was the croque madame, carrot cake and coffee excellent but the staff were friendly, polite and lovely. So, what's there in Uden? Only the best carrot cake in the world and it is at 'Het Pure'. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: €30–40
