Located in an old warehouse restored for the occasion, the brasserie is known for its traditional dishes, with seasonal cuisine of fresh ingredients. The products come directly from Ferme Le Devant, their own farm in France. They offer the possibility to choose from the menu with several options, which also include a wide range of oysters and fresh seafood of the day. A gastronomic experience that you should not miss on your visit to Ghent. Experience The fundamental thing when it comes to eating at Pakhuis is reservation. We did it a little over a week in advance and there were only a few tables left. It is a very busy place and its fame is well deserved, so our first piece of advice is to book as soon as possible. Once seated at the table, they brought us bread and butter, delicious, while we chose something to drink. We opted for a Rochefort 10 and a Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple. Each one, in its own style, perfect for tasting Belgian beers.

For lunch we chose a lunch menu with the options of Oysters (+€3) and fresh fish of the day (+€4) for a total price of €26.50. On the other hand, we chose the knuckle, which we wanted to try. It was accompanied by Tierenteyn mustard sauce, celeriac salad and fresh French fries (€27.30).

Both the oysters and the fish were delicious. The knuckle, personally, was a bit dry, but that is a personal and subjective opinion. Maybe because I'm also used to cooking it at home. Still, it's worth trying. So overall it was a very good meal.

The only discordant note was the excessive delay in serving us the dishes (more than half an hour on the clock). Even so, the wait staff who served us came up to us seeing that we were getting impatient and jokingly told us to be calm, that he wouldn't leave until we had finished our food. It was our last meal in Belgium and we wanted to be quiet, in a charming place and enjoy a typical but well-prepared meal. In that Pakhuis is the right place. So totally recommended.
