I went to News Cafe Davenport for girls night. We each ordered Long Island cocktail which turned out to be virgin cocktails. This happened while we were coming from dinner from another restaurant where we had Long Islands and were satisfied with them. Our waitress from News Cafe called her manager after complaints, that didn't help as she stated that we were meant to drink them fast before the ice dilutes everything. Service: Dine in Price per person: R 350–400 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

It's a good relaxed place...only problem. I had, another male staff member decided to ignore that fact that we the only one sitting in the front and it's near closure time... he doesn't asks us who's take away is this...he just takes it from the table and goes to the back with it...I was lucky enough to see through the kitchen window as i could see him open it and start putting sauce on it...we asked another staff to request that the member that just took a take away from the table and went in the kitchen to bring it back...

Took sometime to come back as it being closed...he has the decently to not apologize but says " don't put a take away on an empty table it's meant for people to sit and walks away" firstly when it was brought to me it was also left on the next table from where we sitting...that G just made me realize ain't no customer service with him..he lucky I kept it to myself...he actually should of paid for that food he put sauce on. I was there 24/05/23.mxim but atleast I won't be visiting that place again.

Our waitor was on point..shout out to the guy.just that one waitor irritated me and I really didn't wanna spoilt the birthday dinner for the person I was with.

The service was appalling. My friend ordered avo on health bread. I asked for med/rare rump with chips. The waitron gave my friend the avo on bread as well as a full breakfast of 2 eggs, bacon and bread, we never ordered that. The rump steak (if you could call it that) was covered in barbecue sauce which i didn't order. I told the waitron that the rump steak was brisket, was prepared to pay for it, but wanted a takeaway box. Then she brought the bill, i added on 10% tip as it is polite, paid with my card. Then the manager came back with another bill and said i had to pay another R80 or R180 as they gave me the wrong bill. I told them to get hold of head office. They never came back or apologised. I just phoned and asked for a senior member of management and was told he will come in at around 4 as he is very tired?
