It breaks my heart, we were so looking forward to the evening and if it had ended the way it did up to the fourth course, we would have been completely satisfied. But the main course of Peking lamb and everything that came after it were neither a revelation in terms of taste nor particularly interesting or well presented compared to restaurants in the same price range. It's like the menu builds to a crescendo and then suddenly the music stops and all you hear is noise from the audience. Whether you would like one or two more courses before the desserts is of course a matter of taste, but we were also slightly disappointed that it continued with cheese afterwards, but probably mainly because of the unsatisfying main course. Drinks accompaniment (wine and antidote) was good with 1-2 highlights, but we have also had better in the same price range. The ambience is nice, but as soon as the food is no longer good, you notice that it is a bit narrower and louder than you would like. The service was very nice and professional throughout, but it sometimes seemed a bit hectic in the cramped atmosphere, and we didn't get the personal touch that evening either. I know Mraz prides itself on the casual ambience, but you still pay fine dining prices and then you notice little things like the mistake when pouring, not all the glasses shining perfectly, we had a long wait between the main course and the cheese where, for example, no one asked us asked if we would like to have a drink. However, water was constantly topped up, there is nothing. Don't get me wrong - it's a top restaurant, and I'm sure it deserves all the praise it gets (again - the first courses showed it) but it didn't click for us that day. Nothing stood out that would make us go here again and not to other decorated restaurants, but please feel free to try it yourself, I certainly won't advise against it. We were here with our friends (this was their 3rd time in Mraz & Sohn) but for me, it was my first 2-star experience. The interior is relaxed and welcoming. And the food... it is just so good that I would eat any of the plates from our 12-course tasting menu for the upcoming 3 months, every day. It was delicious, playful, creative, funny, but it was also very, very good food in the traditional, no-nonsense way. The sommelier guy was super friendly and chose the best possible options for our taste. This was a great evening in the company of really good friends. Money well spent!
