To be honest, I can't understand the price of 44.- per person for brunch. Only sweet things had taste, the rest was tasteless and I don't mean that as a compliment... the rooms are pretty dark, everything is small and cramped. After 45 minutes we were already gone because you want to drink your coffee on Sunday morning in a relaxed atmosphere. And listening to free relationship tips from the next table is not one of them for me Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: CHF 40–50 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 1

Unprofessional and customer-unfriendly I've been vegan for over 12 years now and this is the first vegan restaurant that I or we would no longer go to. A pity.. My mother and I were at Max-Moriz for the first time and we were looking forward to lunch. After visiting the website in advance, we reserved a table online. When we arrived we were told that you could choose either the carrot and pea curry or the buffet and that the buffet would be charged based on weight. 1. Disillusionment: There was only one curry, so no choice of two different curries as advertised on the website. Why only one wasn't mentioned (was the other already sold out at 12:45 p.m.?). 2. It's all self-service, not just the buffet. Because this was neither mentioned verbally nor was it visible anywhere, I waited in vain at the reserved table (we were the only ones inside). 3. ATTENTION: MENU only means a plate! I specifically ordered the menu (I said menu with the curry and curry menu), paid CHF 16.50 (excluding drink) and then only received a plate (curry with rice). Confused, we asked about the salad and were just pointed to the buffet. So I assumed that the menu salad could be picked up from the salad buffet. WRONG, I was asked to check out again and was condescendingly told by one of the two ladies behind the counter that I (new guest) would have had to say "Menu PLUS" if I wanted a salad (they would give it out) and the menu plus costs more, I would have paid less, i.e. CHF 16.50 instead of CHF 22. She then noted that she hadn't sold a single menu plus today. No wonder if you don't make new guests aware of this important difference when ordering (menu ≠ menu, menu + = menu) and leave out the higher price on the menu. This is what it says on their lunch website/map: Tuesday to Friday we serve two different vegan options Lunch menus 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m IN-HOUSE CHF 16.50 / TAKE-AWAY CHF 14.50 Menu + 2 different curries with raita, chutney, basmati rice and Salad menu Buffet Help yourself to our colorful one as you please Buffet 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m We find this misleading and unprofessional (in the catering industry, menu means “a meal consisting of several courses”) 4. The food: In our opinion, the price-performance ratio is not right. The lunch buffet was small (selection and quantity), but unfortunately not everything was good. The potatoes in the potato salad were undercooked (a no-go). Some co-op restaurants and rest stops these days offer more for vegans. The carrot and pea curry (the one plate meal) wasn't anything special either. Only carrots and peas in a curry sauce, with standard steamed rice. No toppings. At least the sauce was fine (spicy). However, in a completely vegan restaurant I expect a little more (e.g. the tofu option), especially for this price. At Thai or Indian you get more for less money and the service is friendly. Edit due to owner's response: What price reduction? I'll be happy to come and collect the money. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: CHF 40–50 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

We make …Hello Martina Thank you for your detailed review. On this day we had many spontaneous guests from the moment we opened, so the first lunch menu was already used up. We make sure to generate as little food waste as possible, so we wait a while before reordering. We therefore represent the philosophy that something can happen sometimes. We try our best to instruct all guests about the concept straight away, but we also strive to serve our customers at the counter immediately so that there are no longer waiting times. We are sorry that there was a misunderstanding between the lunch menu and the MenuPlus (Menu+), we have never had this problem before. In our Menu+, in addition to the lunch menu, we offer chutney, raita and a side salad. Experience has shown that not all guests want a salad with their curry, which is why this is not included in our lunch menu. Most salad lovers help themselves to our buffet, where we offer a wide variety of different salads. In most cases, the term “lunch menu” means a plated meal and not several courses, otherwise it would be called a “3-course menu,” for example. We try very hard to offer fair prices, but we also have to adapt to inflation. We also offer different menus every day, so that tofu is not included in the curry every day. The lunch menu costs 16.50 francs and the buffet costs 4.90 francs per 100g. Due to the misunderstanding in your case, we have also reduced the price slightly to accommodate you. We are all the more disappointed that the lack of understanding is still so great and nothing was said about it on site. We would be happy to have open communication on site in the future so that we can clarify any questions, ambiguities or discrepancies directly. Because it is in our interest that all guests go home satisfied. More
