Maha's Brunch, located near the intersection of Greenwood and Gerrard, is a lovely brunch restaurant, steps away from the 506 Carlton/College streetcar. Known for its Egyptian brunch offerings, this restaurant is a popular choice, especially on weekends when long lines are common. However, visiting during the weekdays is a much more worthwhile experience, as the crowds are significantly lighter. Even when we went on a Thursday at noon, a small line began to form! The menu at Maha's Brunch features a variety of brunch items, sandwiches, and sides, complemented by an extensive drink selection that includes lattes, coffee, Turkish coffee, tea, and cold beverages. During our visit, we ordered the Cairo Classic, Egyptian Falafel, and a small pot of mint tea. For a table of two, the portions were satisfying without being overwhelming and just hit the spot. The Cairo Classic, made with seasoned fava beans and accompanied by delectable balady bread, was a highlight, and we would order again! The homemade tomato feta added a delightful touch and seasoned well. The Egyptian Falafel, featuring an egg in the center, provided a lovely balance of flavours and is highly recommended. We did not get a chance to try their award-winning lentil soup during our visit. The staff were very friendly and attentive, frequently checking in to refill water and ensure good service. The restaurant exudes a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, adorned with Egypt-themed decor. While the space is somewhat compact, it is cozy enough for small groups of four; however, larger parties may experience longer wait times. The two-seater tables are optimal, with a few nooks available for couples. Additionally, they received Michelin Guide Honourable Mentions for the fourth consecutive year in 2025.
