food is decent! not the most flavourful to be honest, but the atmosphere is lovely. this spot used to be my fav until my most recent visit. the portion size, while decent, has shrunk significantly since a few years ago. the service was meh- it was very hard to get any of the waiters attention despite making eye contact several times. i still rate this semi highly because their hot pot is quite good for the price point. i believe their other dishes might have potential so i would come back, but the udon is nothing special. btw…. not a fan of the fact that google reviews are inflated for free drinks…. Very disappointing experience at Mabu Generation. I ordered the grilled salmon rice bowl shown on their menu, which clearly includes salmon roe (ikura) in the photo. However, the actual dish came without any roe at all. I later noticed they had quietly removed the words “salmon roe” from the description — but the photo still shows a generous portion of it. That’s extremely misleading. The overall quality of the dish was poor. The presentation looked nothing like the menu, and the ingredients were thrown together with very little care. Most concerning of all — there was a bug on the pickled radish. This raises serious hygiene concerns. For a place charging nearly $20 for a rice bowl, this is simply unacceptable. Would not recommend based on this experience. Food: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30
