Salmon tartare was my favourite! Food could be a little less salty though.
Fried seafood platter was fantastic. Mussels, scallops, bass, ceviche are a taste of the sea to die for, and good enough to share. Moderately busy, good tunes, comfortable for a date or hang out with friends. KAGE achieves a fancy / posh feel by being 'different' and 'low-key' from the names on their menu, to the ingredients, presentation and atmosphere. I'll go again.
Visited Kage Restobar on a Saturday evening after reading the good reviews on yelp. The restaurant is one of the few trendier places in Mississauga right now, sister restaurant to The Wilcox Gastropub. We ordered the Cauliflower Kaarage, Pork Belly Skewers and Japanese Eggplant as our starters. The cauliflower Kaarage was good, came with a unique suace that was a nice change, but have had better elsewhere. The pork Belly skewers were a little chewy and tough for my liking, the flavour was really good however. The Japanese Eggplant was also a nice light app, especially for those who love eggplant. For mains I had the Confit duck Chaufa and my gf had the Octopus. Both dishes looked beautifully presented. The Octopus was perfectly cooked and went well with the sauces on the dish, the quinoa however was quite bland and didn't add anything to the dish. The Confit duck Chaufa was really good, especially liked the amount of duck in the bowl. To be honest the duck Chaufa was almost reminiscent of a bimbimbap the way it was prepared. We had a good experience altogether, a nice spot to have dinner in Mississauga but still feel like it's not quite at the same level as some of the higher rated restaurants you can find in Dt Toronto.
