My family and I recently attended a wedding reception held at the Golf Mont Cascades. It was a beautiful wedding with a lovely scenery but the venue definitely lacked quality in more than many ways. Firstly, the Maitre D wasn’t so helpful nor professional, the mother of the bride had to run around all evening getting things done herself. Some of the tables were not perfectly set up, this resulted in the mother of the bride constantly making requests such as for missing cups or plates. Our server at table 8 did not look or act professional, she was wearing all black and her shirt looked so worn out and was not tucked in, also she was not pleasant. I have over 10 years experience having worked in the catering service industry and I know the dress code is a white shirt and black pants or skirt and tucked in. This was a wedding of all events and you think they would know better, apparently not. Some of the staff were pleasant but some were not. It was clear this francophone establishment was not so thrilled about serving their Muslim nor the Anglophone guests. The wedding consisted of Arab and white people but it was a Muslim wedding and non-alcoholic. Lastly, the venue had no knife to cut the wedding cake nor plates for the cake??? So strange that this venue caters to weddings and there is no knife or plates to serve the cake, that is so unfortunate and very sad. The cake was not cut nor served in the end. That should say enough about this place. Also you should know if you decide to book your wedding venue there, especially on the upper deck which is pretty much outdoors, they have floor boards therefore ladies do not wear your skinny or pointy heels, they will keep getting stuck in between the floor boards, not too mention all the gravel rocks and dirt you must walk through from the parking lot. Best to avoid if looking for a wedding venue.
