Bar moderne et décor dépouillé. Clientèle permanente. Carte et plats corrects sans grandes surprises. Le personnel, jeune, est drillé à l'allemande: efficace et poli. Terrasse près du Dom.

During my recent visit to Funkhaus Café-Bar-Restaurant in Cologne, I had the chance to try two dishes, and both really impressed me. First, the truffle pasta with grilled chicken was a real standout. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, generously coated in a rich, creamy sauce with the deep, earthy flavor of truffle shining through. The chicken pieces were tender, well-seasoned, and nicely seared — a great pairing with the luxurious sauce. The presentation was beautiful too, with fresh herbs and shaved truffles adding a classy touch. The second dish we tried was equally delicious — a comforting plate of rice topped with a creamy sauce, capers, tender meat medallions, and vibrant beetroot slices. The combination of flavors was really interesting: the creaminess of the sauce, the tanginess of the capers, and the sweetness of the beetroot all balanced each other beautifully. It felt like a dish crafted with a lot of thought and care. Service was warm and professional, and the overall vibe of Funkhaus was very relaxed yet stylish — the kind of place where you could just as easily settle in for a leisurely lunch or meet friends for a laid-back evening. If you’re in Cologne and looking for a spot with great food, inviting atmosphere, and friendly service, Funkhaus is definitely worth a visit.
