We wanted to eat the breakfast buffet here for my girlfriend's birthday and were unfortunately completely disappointed. When we entered the café, we were taken upstairs in a very unfriendly manner. When we got there we were looking forward to breakfast, which was an absolute disaster. There were, among other things, small bowls of cherry tomatoes and mozzarella balls, although the mozzarella balls tasted extremely sour and pungent and were obviously no longer good. I told one of my employees this directly, whereupon she simply said that it couldn't be and didn't do anything else. The “fresh” vegetables were either completely dry (cucumber, carrot) or completely mushy (peppers), the scrambled eggs were also completely dried out and smelled so pungent and disgusting that the smell almost made us both sick. I tried another glass of some kind of fruit yogurt, which also tasted extremely sour and fermented. By that point, we had both completely lost our appetite, so I shared our experiences with a waitress and told her that we were very unhappy and dissatisfied, that we would no longer use the buffet and would like to leave. She apologized, but still charged us for the breakfast buffet. The only “compensation” we received was the cost of the drinks (one spritzer each). We have never had such an underground experience in Aachen and are absolutely disappointed with Café Middelberg.
