I had the pleasure of dining at Brazas, and it was an unforgettable culinary experience! This Portuguese fusion restaurant masterfully blends traditional Portuguese flavors with innovative twists, creating a menu that is both unique and delightful. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The decor beautifully combines modern elements with touches of Portuguese culture, making it a perfect setting for a memorable meal. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, each more enticing than the last. For the main course, I chose the Peri Peri chicken, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The ingredients were fresh, and the fusion of flavors was expertly balanced, making every bite a delight. To top it all off, the dessert was a true highlight. The chocolate Mousse was the perfect ending to a fantastic meal, leaving me thoroughly satisfied. Overall, Brazas is a gem that should not be missed. The creative dishes, exceptional service, and inviting atmosphere make it a standout in the dining scene. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience the best of Portuguese fusion cuisine. I landed in East London and was immediately whisked off to a restaurant and enjoying the company of good friends...we hungrily devoured the most delicious river crab curry...sucking the flesh with the juice running freely down your arms...lost in the enjoyment, unconscious of the messiness... de-shelling the succulent peri peri prawns...nice sized and tasty ... the linguine prawn pasta was nice but a bit monotone...we come with a bit of restaurant snobbery given that we spoilt for choice with good restaurants in Gauteng...and tend not to expect much in EL...it was thus a lovely surprise to encounter a restaurant like Brazas Portuguese Fusion ..warm atmosphere, the walls adorned with lovely paintings, a bubbly owner-hostess and allround really good food...kicking off with the warm rolls lathered in butter and ending with the homemade lemoncello...not forgetting the decadent salty caramel cheesecake...washed down with a reasonably priced chilled sav blanc...if ever you make your way here make sure you order the river crab...all of this engulfed in comfortable companionship enwrapped in conversations of retirement, aging and love...one cannot ask for a better way to spend your Thursday evening!
