Food is always been amazing with plenty to eat. Staff also is very friendly. I love the old European atmosphere as well.

This is one of the best brunch and German restaurants in Edmonton given the quality and quantity of their food. Be prepared to wait in line on weekends. Note to those that have been here before COVID - They don't offer the dinner buffet anymore. Overall 9.3/10. This isn't your father's Barb & Ernie's Restaurant. This was a real destination restaurant back in the days that the actual Barb & Ernie ran it. The dining area would be full and there would be a line up outside, even in the coldest weather. Now Barb & Ernie are retired because 10 years ago their son took over. Ernie used to greet everyone at the door in a very casual manner with his loud voice; I think that Ernie was half of the reason that people came here. Ernie's son stays mainly in the kitchen. The restaurant has lost its iconic destination status but that's okay because they are now more focused on quality rather than quality. I ordered the waffle with mixed berries. It was actually quite filling. I would have liked a little more of the berry topping but I would say that at most places that serve waffles. The waffle had a real "cooked from scratch" taste and texture. My wife ordered French Toast and she said it was quite good as well. The prices were average to slightly lower than average. The coffee was fine for a restaurant and refills came before either of our cups were empty. Overall we quite enjoyed our breakfasts. So this really isn't your father's Barb & Ernie's Restaurant and that's a good thing.
