A surprise, a place operated by chance. But perhaps it is precisely these situations that make the discovery more authentic. I am in Testaccio, a lively, modern, young neighborhood always ready to amaze you with its alleys and discos next to historic taverns. Assuntina is a different, welcoming and peaceful place. The wood of the entrances, the color of the walls and the tasteful music accompany well-presented and excellent quality dishes. I appreciated the fried prawns and calamari not only for the freshness of the fish, but also for the consistency of the batter which did not absorb the oil and did not overpower the flavor of the fish. The tuna tataki was excellent, well cooked and presented simply. I also appreciated the roasted octopus, with an excellent crunchiness. The last note I reserve for Mrs. Teresa, a very kind and friendly fellow countryman, as well as for all the staff who were always attentive but, above all, discreet, allowing us to experience a very intimate evening at the table.
